ABOUT JMUN

Jakarta Model United Nations (“JMUN”) is Indonesia's largest international Model United Nations (“MUN”) conference, which was first conducted by ISAFIS in Jakarta in 2011. JMUN allows members to engage in the difficulties of international negotiation and diplomacy. Participants discuss global issues in a setting that simulates the processes of a United Nations conference while acting as representatives of their assigned countries. This experience provides delegates with important insights into the UN's functioning while actively contributing to the resolution of critical international concerns.

GRAND THEME

Jakarta International Model United Nations or JMUN 2025 brings the fresh theme titled A Turning Point in Time: Changing the Global Status Quo to Forge a Unified Future.This theme is brought to people not merely from interest, but also with concern and clear purpose that is aligned with JMUN values. This theme redefines the concept of legacy, emphasizing that though acknowledging that heritage and history must be upheld to preserve cultural richness and unity, not all traditions and systems deserve to endure. It challenges the notion of upholding inequality, mistreatment, or outdated norms simply because they are longstanding.

ABOUT ISAFIS

Indonesian Student Association for International Studies (”ISAFIS”) is a youth-led and non-profit organization formed as a medium for youth to exchange ideas, embracing upon international issues. ISAFIS has also built collaboration and partnership with numerous stakeholders, ranging from fellow youth organizations, non-governmental organizations, embassies, government institutions, and international organizations to support its programs such as Jakarta Model United Nations, Indonesia International Week, Jakarta Youth Summit and other annual programs. As a youth organization, ISAFIS attempts to give many advantages for the youth themselves, as well as for the entire community through our programs. Particularly, we try to develop important personal and interpersonal skills of the members, offer opportunities for them through conferences, summits, exchange programs, and involving youth to develop their leadership potential, so that as they grow and learn they can become thoughtful, prepared leaders of the society. Hence, in line with the ISAFIS vision mission statement, we would like to develop the members and advance ISAFIS as a leading youth organization by facilitating personal growth and development for members through a series of integrated programs and activities, and building and widening external partnerships with the domestic and international institutions.
